How do I add licenses to the CathexisVision software?
Answer
When needing to add licenses to CathexisVision there are two methods (Internet based licensing or Non internet based licensing ).
When having internet available on the site server the most common way of licensing is done using a product key.The product key would be provided by the Sales Admin department or by the Cathexis support team (support@cathexisvideo.com).
INTERNET BASED
Follow the below steps to license using a product key:
Step 1 : When logged in as an administrator of the software.Navigate within the setup to the server(preferably the master) and simply right click on the server to be licensed.
The option to manage licensing will become available then click licensing
Step 2 : Click on the radio button that says license using a product key then click next
Step 3 : add in the product key
Step 4 : The connection to the license server will be made to add in the relevant licenses as requested from the admin department
NON INTERNET BASED
When having no internet available on the site server the most common way of licensing is done using a .RQST file and a .PACK file.
The .RQST file is generated on the server by a customer that would like to license a server manually and a .Pack file would be provided by the Sales Admin department or by the Cathexis support team (support@cathexisvideo.com).
Follow the below steps to create the .RQST file from an unlicensed server :
Step 1 : When logged in as an administrator of the software.Navigate within the setup to the server(preferably the master) and simply right click on the server to be licensed.
The option to manage licenses will become available then click licensing
Step 2 : Select the option to retrieve the license .RQST file
Step 3 : Select your preferred location in the below snapshot the desktop is selected.
Step 4 : Click next store the file in the location of your choice.The .RQST file will need to be manually sent to Sales Admin department or by the Cathexis support team (support@cathexisvideo.com).
Step 5 :Once your licenses are loaded manually onto the Cathexis Licensing server the sales admin team will email the customer back with a .PACK file.Once the PACK file is received proceed to the next step
Step 6 : When logged in as an administrator of the software.Navigate within the setup to the server(preferably the master) and simply right click on the server to be licensed.
The option to manage licenses will become available then click licensing
Step 7 : Select the option to upload a license .PACK file to this server
Step 7 : Once the selected.PACK file is selected simply click next to add the licenses to the server
Step 8 : The licenses will now be found on the server you have licensed
